Kylie Cosmetics Is Set to Become a $1 Billion Dollar Brand

Considering that her products are constantly selling out, we believe it.

Consider Kylie Jenner's OG Lip Kit the product that launched an empire—along with a thousand imitations on the market.

According to a report published by WWD today, Kylie Cosmetics has sold $420 million in just 18 months, positioning the brand to make its first billion by 2022. And here we were thinking we were cool for getting a job at Abercrombie and Fitch back when we were 19.

For scale, WWD cites that Tom Ford Beauty, which is owned by Estée Lauder, made $500 million after a decade, while Bobbi Brown cosmetics racked up $1 Billion after 25 years.

We certainly believe those numbers. With each new launch, every product on the site seems to sell out within minutes, which is pretty astonishing considering that 300,000 units of each item are created. For this year alone, Jenner is expected to rack up a cool $386 million, and sales are projected to grow by 25%. By this point, Jenner restocks and launches products so frequently, it can be likened to the people in your circle of friends on Instagram—everyone has an Instagram in the same way everyone has at least one Kylie Jenner product (which has likely been posted on Instagram, for that matter). Clearly, Jenner is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
