Much needed rain is in the forecast for Saturday and Saturday night, not only here in the Concho Valley, but across a wide area of Texas. Forecast models are estimating rain amounts ranging from a half-inch to one inch here in the Concho Valley. The rain is expected to begin after midnight Friday night, before sunrise on Saturday, and then rain off and on all day Saturday. Heavier thunderstorms are also possible, some could produce some small hail and gusty winds along with lightning and heavy downpours. Temperatures will remain very cool with highs only around 60 on Saturday with a north wind of 10 to 20 mph. The rain ends Saturday night but clouds linger for most of Sunday as highs reach only the mid 60's Sunday. Overnight lows in the 40's can be expected this weekend.
