Kiwanis Kiddieland Amusement Park reopens for the season

CARTHAGE, Mo. — It’s opening day for a local amusement park.

The “Kiwanis Kiddieland Amusement Park” opened its gates for the first day of the season today in Carthage.

The park recently experienced some storm damage — as well as some vandalism — but all the damage has been repaired, and Kiddieland is ready to go.

It costs fifty cents a ride, and all the money from the park goes to a scholarship program.

“It’s the most fun you can have for fifty cents a ride. like I said it’s geared for the younger kids, they really enjoy the kiddie cars and the carousel and everybody likes riding the train,” said Gary Barhorst, Kiwanis Kiddieland worker.

The park is opened 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. The season ends Labor Day weekend.

The park is always looking for volunteers, so if you’re interested in becoming one, visit their Facebook, here.
