Kingsport Parks and Recreation to host Pedal and Plant event

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its new Pedal and Plant event in celebration of Earth Day.

Attendees can enjoy a relaxing bike ride while helping upgrade the greenbelt’s appearance in celebration of Earth Day. It is the perfect opportunity to get the family outside and involved, the City of Kingsport said in a release.

The Pedal and Plant event will be on April 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Kingsport Greenbelt’s Industry Drive Trailhead (855 Industry Drive).

Attendees must bring their own helmet and bicycle.

The event is free to attend, however, Kingsport Parks and Recreation officials are asking people to register for an approximate turnout estimate.
