Kings River High students are cleaning up graffiti on this trail

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Students from Kings River High School are taking action through a removal project that protects and preserves the natural beauty of the Lost Lake Nature Trail in Fresno County.

The Civic Education Center officials say 17 students are partaking in the graffiti removal project. It is a partnership with the Civic Education Center, Sanger Unified School District, North Fork Mono Tribe, Fresno County Parks Department, and the San Joaquin River Trust.

Organizers say they are not only cleaning up graffiti but also learning about the rich history and cultural significance of the area.

According to organizers, the students are organizing a graffiti-cleaning event on April 30 from 10 a.m. to noon and all are invited to join the effort to help protect the area.

“We are proud of these students for taking the lead on this important project,” said Jon Tillotson, principal of Kings River High School. “By working together with our community partners, they are not only making a positive impact on their environment but also gaining valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.”
