Malibu, which is on the outskirts of Los Angeles, is home to many mansions and luxe apartments owned by the A-List. Famous residents from the area have been using their platforms to plead for help and donations for emergency services and people who have had to flee, praise the firefighters and first responders tackling the blaze and give updates on their homes and communities which were affected as the fire spread south over the weekend.

Here's some of the stars we've been getting updates from:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

On Friday, Kim shared on Instagram stories that she and the family had an hour to pack up and evacuate their home in the Hidden Hills area. She later updated fans on Twitter that the fire was now more contained and had narrowly avoided the home she shares with her husband, Kanye.

On Sunday, at the E! People's Choice Awards, Kim dedicated the award she and her family won for Keeping up with the Kardashians 'to all of the firefighters, the law enforcement and the first responders. We really true appreciate what you have done for all of us, so please let's continue to pray for everyone's safety'.

Khloe Kardashian

Kim's younger sister Khloe was another resident who evacuated on Friday, along with her baby daughter True Thompson. She told followers on Twitter that she fled just with 'the clothes on my back' but packed most of True's belongings as any new Mum would.

She revealed she and her daughter were safe and were staying with her brother Rob Kardashian.

Miley Cyrus

On Sunday 11 November, Miley sadly shared that her house had burned down in the fire. She said that despite the loss, she was 'one of the lucky ones' and was grateful that her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and animals escaped unharmed.

Lady Gaga

On Saturday, the singer said she too had been evacuated and was 'sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames'.

She thanked the first responders for their efforts, it's still not known whether her house survived the blaze.

Caitlyn Jenner

Caitlyn revealed she had been evacuated from her Malibu home but wasn't sure whether her house 'made it or not and that's still up in the air'.

She added that her dogs were ok before sharing an update the next day which showed the charred hills of Malibu following the fire.

Yolanda, Gigi and Bella Hadid

Though Gigi and Bella were in New York at the time of the wildfires, after appearing in the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, they revealed a number of establishments in their home community had suffered damage and added that they weren't sure of the state of their mother, Yolanda Hadid's Malibu property.

Cher

The legendary singer shared on Twitter on Friday that she was worried about her house but was unaware if it had sustained any damage in the fire, just yet. She added that many of her friends' homes had been burned in the blaze.

'I can't bear the thought of there being no Malibu,' she wrote. 'I've had a house in Malibu since 1972.'

Gerard Butler

The PS I Love You actor shared a photograph of the remains of his home in Malibu, which was lost to the fire, after he returned on Sunday for the first time since he evacuated. He thanked the Los Angeles Fire Department and urged followers to support them.

Orlando Bloom

The British actor shared a picture of his street in Malibu engulfed in bright orange and yellow flames, saying he was praying for 'all of my Malibu fam'.

All of the celebrities made sure to thank the firefighters who run directly into the blaze in order to save others and other people's homes. They also acknowledged they were lucky to be safe and out of the deadly fire's path and that many other residents who don't have the same profile have suffered enormously.
