Rapper Kid Cudi had to bring his Coachella 2024 set to an abrupt end after breaking his foot during his performance.

The Scotts hit-maker, 40, took to the stage of the Sahara Tent on Sunday after being a last-minute addition to the line-up, having last played the annual music festival in 2019.

Late into his 40-minute set, he was performing the track Memories and attempted to get closer to his fans at the barricades by jumping down from the stage and broke his foot in the process.

A fan-captured clip shared to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, shows the US star taking a tumble and wincing as he falls to the ground.

He then had to be carried out with the help of two security guards while his DJ closed out the set by playing Steve Aoki’s remix of Pursuit Of Happiness.

Confirming his injury on social media later, he wrote: “Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. Just leavin’ the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy.

“I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big [SIC].”

Kid Cudi - whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi - is due to tour North America with Pusha T between June and August this year, followed by dates in Europe and the UK early next year.

It is currently unknown if the injury will affect the North American tour dates.
