Kern Valley High teacher admitted to sex acts with student: docs

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Kern Valley High School teacher admitted to sending sexually explicit messages and engaging in sex acts with a student inside a classroom, according to newly-released court documents.

Christopher David Renaudo, 29, is charged with five felony counts and remains in custody on $185,000 bail, according to court records. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled this week.

Renaudo was arrested earlier this month after the alleged victim reported he sexually assaulted her on three occasions after asking her to stay behind after class, according to the documents.

The incidents, the teen said, took place from late September to early October. She told sheriff’s investigators she didn’t report them sooner because Renaudo has a wife and child and she didn’t want him to lose his family and job.

When first questioned, Renaudo told investigators he had a normal student-teacher relationship with the teen.

Confronted with sexually explicit messages and a video sent from his account, Renaudo admitted engaging in sex acts with her, the documents say. Kern High School District officials have said Renaudo was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
