Kelly Clarkson’s red blazer and choker is the perfect holiday party look
Kelly Clarkson has been nominated for a Grammy award for the live performance of her song Piece By Piece. Which is like, duh, because that live performance is heart-wrenchingly incredible. (Embedded below. Go watch it now for the millionth time.) But let’s talk about what she wore when she heard she got a Grammy nom.
The mama-of-two got the news on The Morning Mash Up at the SiriusXM studios while doing press for The Hamilton Mixtape. To which, by the way, she wore the greatest holiday outfit that ever was.
Layering a black, V-neck dress beneath red blazer, and accessorizing with a thick black choker, she looked seriously on-holiday-point.
Of course, being the bad ass that she is, she toughened the look up with opaque black tights and some black motorcycle boots.
“We just got some breaking news in here. Did you know you’re nominated for a Grammy?” Morning Mash Up host Ryan Sampson asked. Kelly was audibly surprised.
“What?! What am I nominated for? Oh wait! Piece by Piece, the live thing?” she responded.

Referencing the tearful rendition of the song which she performed on American Idol in February, she thanked Sampson for informing her.
“Thank you! Apparently, all you have to do is cry on national television,” she joked. “Apparently, people are into that.”
Yup. We are. We still love it and will forevermore.
