KCS: Seaver receives 2024 NAESP TN National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has named Dr. Melissa Seaver of Sevier Middle School the 2024 Tennessee National Outstanding Assistant Principal, Kingsport City Schools announced on its website Wednesday.

Seaver’s peers nominated her due to her commitment to the assistant principal role.

“NAESP honors assistant principals who make stellar contributions to their leadership team,” Kingsport City Schools said. “This program promotes excellence in educational leadership and calls attention to the fundamental importance of the assistant principal.”

Seaver stated she is filled with gratitude after receiving this tremendous state-wide honor.

“I am deeply humbled and immensely grateful to be recognized as the recipient of the NAESP Tennessee National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award,” said Seaver. “My journey in Kingsport City Schools has been nothing short of transformative and I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to Sevier Middle School and our school community”
