Kansas school bus has run-in with deer

FINNEY COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A school bus from USD 482 Dighton was hit by a deer in Finney County Thursday morning.

The bus was traveling south on Kansas Highway 23 around 6:30 a.m., taking juniors and seniors to Dodge City Community College.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a deer came from the east side of the road and hit the driver’s side of the bus. Troopers say the driver and nine students on the bus were not hurt.

A spokesperson for the school district said the bus is still drivable.

There is no word on what happened to the deer.
