Juvenile in custody after Sandusky school threat: Police

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) – Sandusky police confirm to the FOX 8 I-Team that one juvenile is in custody following a social media post threatening a school.

School officials and police say the threat was posted by a student and threatened “a school”
within the district.

No specifics were given at this time, but Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver says his officers are investigating.

Officials with the Sandusky City Schools District released the following statement on the district’s social media page:

“Attention Blue Streak Families: Today, a social media post from a student threatening a school within our district was brought to our attention. The Sandusky police department is investigating this threat, and those responsible are in custody. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We will share additional information as we can and the Sandusky Police Department will have an increased presence in the district tomorrow. We always encourage our staff and students to be vigilant and proactive. Please contact us whenever you see or hear something suspicious concerning Sandusky City Schools. We would like to thank the Sandusky Police Department for their quick response to this matter.”
