Juvenile arrested for attempted carjacking in San Bruno

(KRON) — Police arrested a juvenile boy Monday for allegedly attempting to carjack a woman in San Bruno.

Around 9:32 a.m., San Bruno police responded to reports of the attempted carjacking. The victim said she was sitting in a parked car when the boy opened her car door, tried to pull her out and demanded her keys. Unsuccessful, he then fled the scene on foot.

Police disseminated a detailed description of the suspect. Later that day, a San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office deputy located a possible suspect about a mile away from the original crime scene.

The juvenile boy was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County juvenile detention center on charges related to attempted carjacking. The suspect’s identity was not released.
