You'd think Julianne Hough would get a day off to celebrate her upcoming wedding, but when it comes to her first dance as a married couple with fiancé Brooks Laich, there'll be no rest for the ballroom dancing pro.

The Dancing With the Stars host expected a low-key night with some improvised amateur dancing, but that apparently didn't sit well with her hockey player husband-to-be. "I was always under the impression that we would just get up there and do a little side-to-side dancing," Hough told Harry Connick Jr. in an interview on his talk show, Harry. "But he's like, 'No, I want a full-on choreographed routine!'"

The dancer remembers a less than successful tutorial when the couple first started dating in 2014, and he tried to impress her by learning some moves from a line dancing DVD. "He's always wanted to dance, so he was like, 'Hey, will you teach me this move?' So I'm starting to teach him, and as we're doing it he's like, 'Well, she doesn't do it like that.' I was like, 'Well, I'm a champ!'"

Dancing disagreements aside, the happy couple announced their engagement in August 2015, and when it comes to the wedding dance, Hough knows he's going to have to let her take the lead if he wants to be a match for his bride. "I'm like, 'OK, well I'm going to have to teach you, and you're going to have to listen,'" she said.

Although she might be used to performing in the spotlight, Hough told People they're keeping the wedding to a close group of family and friends. But with the Hough family on the guest list, the much-anticipated first dance is sure to lead to an epic dance party.
