Judge denies bond request for mother in Elijah Vue case

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The mother of missing 3-year-old, Elijah Vue, will stay in jail for now. Today (4/30/24), a Manitowoc County judge denied Katrina Baur’s request be released from jail on a signature bond. This comes after her attorney requested her $15-thousand cash bond be converted to a signature bond due to her inability to come up with the cash.

Baur’s son has been missing since February 20th. There have been multiple searches for the boy and a $40 thousand reward is being offered. Her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, was caring for the toddler when he was reported missing. Both Baur and Vang face child neglect charges but neither has been charged with the boy’s disappearance. Both have pleaded not guilty.
