Jordyn Woods Turned 21 With a Blowout Party and a Brand New Athleisure Capsule
As a model, entrepreneur, and burgeoning designer, Jordyn Woods has squeezed a lot into two decades—but she’s more than ready to see where 21 takes her. After ringing in the milestone birthday with a blowout party this weekend, Woods unveiled a special collection of her athleisure line, Secndnture. After successfully launching the collection back in August with a range of leggings, bra tops, and athletic essentials, Woods has expanded the line with a birthday capsule with plenty of sparkle. “I chose silver because I wanted to do something [that was] fun with eye-catching elements yet wearable to the gym or paired with other pieces for day-to-night looks,” shared Woods on the phone from Los Angeles. “I feel like everything that I’ve done so far in my career has been organic and genuine, and that’s why it’s worked out so well. I always knew I wanted to start my own line, because I’ve collaborated with many companies in the past and I love creating.”
Woods’s passion for the creative process shows within the range. Designed to be worn beyond the confines of the fitness center, the line is filled with pieces that have a sexy flair. Unique touches such as transparent panels on tights, cut-outs, and vivid color-blocking add a fashionable touch to items normally chosen for their practicality. For Woods, who works out daily and travels regularly for work, those details were important. “My lifestyle is very active,” she said. “I’m not only working out but I’m always on the go, so I love that I can wear these anywhere.” Another must? Making the range accessible to all. “A lot of things were important to me when creating this line; number one was quality, two was making it affordable, and three was making it size inclusive,” said Woods, who found shopping discouraging when she was younger due to a lack of options. “I would go to the mall and all the stores like Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, but there wasn’t much in there at all for girls like me. As I got older, I found my confidence, began to try new things, and it all worked out, but I know there are so many girls out there who would still love to find great clothes.”
Within the birthday lineup, there’s plenty to enjoy, with shiny windbreaker pants, a liquid metal take on the classic legging, and Woods’s personal favorite: shorts with a built-in waist trainer. “It’s a unique element I’m bringing throughout my collections,” said Woods. “I started wearing these sweat-bands that helped keep the core tight and maximized the workout. So I thought why not kill two birds with one stone and create pants with those built in. They were one of my first ideas for the line and I just ran with it.” With fresh concepts like that and a vocal fan base on Instagram, the collection is sure to thrive for many birthdays to come.
