Joplin man arrested for burglary in Carthage

CARTHAGE, Mo. — A Joplin man is facing burglary charges and more after authorities responded to a break-in early Thursday afternoon.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, a home security camera tipped off residents to a man breaking into their south Carthage home. They contacted authorities and detectives with the JCSO arrived at the house shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Law enforcement entered the home through the back door and found Richard Douglas Weaver, aka “Ranger Rick,” 56, inside the kitchen. Weaver was placed under arrest and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

Weaver faces charges of 2nd degree burglary and resisting arrest.
