Jewelry, J.Lo perfume among prizes at JCPenney grand opening at Willowbrook Mall
WAYNE — You can leave the mall smelling like Jennifer Lopez.
If that is not enough of an incentive, JCPenney will hand over a diamond necklace.
The department store is celebrating its grand opening at Willowbrook Mall at 9:30 a.m. Friday, and as part of the special event, the chain announced loads of prizes that include fine jewelry and top-of-the-line fragrances.
The first 50 customers will get wristbands that they can use to redeem for J.Lo perfume and Olaplex hair care products. The first 100 customers will get JCPenney coupons and gift cards, plus stylish tote bags.
The store, which is also marking its 50th anniversary in the township, moved to the mall last month from Wayne Towne Center, a nearby retail complex that it co-anchored with Costco Wholesale.
Vornado Realty Trust, a Manhattan-based company that owns the center, did not respond to an inquiry about the vacancy created by the relocation of JCPenney.
The new store covers two floors, taking up 121,000 square feet, on the southwest side of the mall.

The anchor space was occupied by a Lord & Taylor department store, followed by a short-lived venture called Shopper’s Find. It sold name-brand merchandise at discount prices, closing in November 2022.

Jewelry is among many rewards that shoppers can receive while supplies last. Other freebies will include bath towels, keychains and shampoo samples.
