Jet Blue Captain Charged with Interfering with Flight Crew

Clayton Osborn, the Jet Blue captain who ran up and down the aisles screaming about Al Qaeda Tuesday before passengers wrestled him to the ground has been charged with "interfering with a flight crew," a crime with a potentially weighty repercussions. It strikes us as odd that one could be guilty of interfering with a crew of which one is the captain, but of course, this is a very odd story. The flight from New York to Las Vegas had to make an emergency landing after Osborn left the cockpit to urge passangers to pray, running up and down the aisle shouting until he was restrained. And now he's charged with violating a crime that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. It's not that we expect he'll actually get that kind of sentence, especially if he can make a plea based on mental health, but still, a valuable reminder to all of us not to mess around with your flight crew.
