Jersey Mike's coming to Lockport and Niagara Falls

May 9—Submarine sandwich chain Jersey Mike's is opening its first location in Niagara County next week.

The shop at 1550 Military Road, Niagara Falls, is scheduled to open on Wednesday.

A second location, at 5746 S. Transit Road, Lockport, is still a few months away from opening.

These will be the eighth and ninth Jersey Mike's locations in Western New York; the other seven are in Erie County.

The chain has been making its way west across New York state the past few years, opening stores in the Rochester area three years ago, which General Manager Adam Ransom said they felt good about.

"The CEO of the company, Peter Cancro, he told my franchisee, 'We want you out in the Buffalo area,'" Ransom said. "Last year, we opened up our Batavia store and slowly, we made it up here."

The franchise owner, Evan Mayer, also owns the locations in Erie County, Batavia and Rochester, as well as some shops in New Jersey.

The Jersey Mike's menu offers subs featuring cold cuts, vegetarian options, hot subs and cheesesteaks.
