Jamestown Fire Department responds to stove fire

Apr. 19—JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a fire Thursday night, April 18, in northeast Jamestown, according to Lt. Sheldon Mohr.

Five units and 21 firefighters responded to 909 12th Ave. NE, apartment 6, at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Mohr said Jamestown police officers had extinguished a stove fire before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters ventilated the apartment for smoke.

Mohr said the fire was caused by plastic burning on the stove.

He said the apartment unit received minor damage.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on scene for about 20 minutes.
