Jackson Sheriff’s detectives arrest 14-time convicted felon for having gun

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Jackson County Office of the Sheriff says it has arrested a 37-year-old man suspected of involvement in several Jackson County shootings.

The unidentified man has 14 prior felony convictions, including seven for firearms-related crimes, making him ineligible to possess a firearm, the department said.

In Wednesday’s arrest, police said a man they believed was involved in other area shootings was seen leaving a Summit Township home that was under surveillance.

Detectives approached the man and took him into custody. Detectives said they found a loaded .45 caliber handgun in his waistband.
