As we know, the Galaxy Far, Far Away that Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo occupied is filled with incredible creatures. From teddy-bear like Ewoks to loyal Wookies, the creativity that went into creating the Star Wars universe is mind-blowing.

But imagine this: For every character that does make it into the movie, there are dozens more that ended up on the cutting-room floor. You wouldn’t BELIEVE how many iterations some of your favorite characters went through to get to their final form. Conversely, some of your least favorite aliens also went through some changes, and they can be pretty terrifying.

Turns out, Jabba the Hutt was supposed to have rows of centipede-like legs.

Hopefully this doesn’t affect your ability to sleep at night.

According to Uproxx, the idea may have come from the Hutt character Grakkus from the Star Wars comics. Grakkus is obsessed with Jedi-related things (aren’t we all), so he had to make himself mobile in order to grow his collection. So, he had spider legs surgically grafted onto his body to become a truly terrifying creature. Um, gross.

Needless to say, this brings our fear of bugs to a whole new level. Whether they’re slugs, centipedes, or spiders, we’ll leave the insect-based aliens safely in the Star Wars galaxy, thankyouverymuch.
