Itching for a pretzel? Wetzel’s opened here in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Looking for a sweet and savory snack before you hit the road? Wetzel’s Pretzels has officially opened a shop at the newly developed Visalia Travel Center.

Officials say local businessman, Sam Sabbah, will own and operate Wetzel’s new location, 6670 Betty Drive, while leading the development of the travel center itself alongside his family.

“The debut of this Wetzel’s location signifies a pivotal moment for my family and me,” said Sabbah. “I am confident that our local community will embrace the new center as a dependable rest stop, no matter where their travels take them.”

Officials add the Visalia Travel Center is an ideal pit stop for those on the go as the space accommodates more than 60 semi-trucks, upwards of 24 Tesla charging stations, amenities like sleep pods and showers, and a food court— now including Wetzel’s.

Amid the official opening of the location, Jon Fischer, Head of Development at Wetzel’s, says there is no doubt that Sabbah will do the location justice.

“It’s operators like Sam who allow us to grow our brand across the nation,” said Jon Fischer, Head of Development at Wetzel’s. “We’re confident Sam will make a positive mark to travelers along the Highway 99 corridor and we are excited to witness his impact on this monumental community project.”
