Iran says its attack on Israel with drones and missiles is a suitable response to an attack on its embassy in Syria and warned Israel against a renewed counter-attack.

"Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be deemed concluded."

The suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1 left two brigadier generals dead among others.

If the Israeli regime takes another such step, Iran's response will be "considerably more severe," the Iranian mission to the United Nations announced on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The post said Washington should stay out of the conflict. "It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!"
