Investigators confiscate 163 grams of meth during traffic stop near Gladewater

UPSHUR COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — A traffic stop near Gladewater led to the arrest of a Kilgore man who allegedly was transporting 163 grams of methamphetamine.

According to a release, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit were conducting drug interdiction, where officers prevent illicit drugs from reaching their destination, on US 80 west of Gladewater on Monday.

Officials said they conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Investigators reportedly seized 163 grams of methamphetamine and $2,343.

The driver, Gerald Hosea Gibson, from Kilgore, was arrested for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance. Gibson was taken to the Upshur County Jail where he remains on a $100,000 bond.
