Investigator Theetge announces release from in-patient rehab in Rochester

According to a Facebook post from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office page, Investigator Theetge has been released from rehab for Memorial Day weekend, as written by Chemung County Sheriff Bill Schrom.

Investigator Theetge has been recovering from severe brain trauma that he sustained from the hit-and-run that took place in Big Flats on March 29.

Sheriff Schrom said, “I can tell you it was a surprise. We had no idea that he was getting released for the weekend and he just showed up at the office unannounced which was awesome. So seeing him when he walked in was a great surprise, everybody was very happy to see Mike in and out of that environment he’s been in for over two months and get some time to be home with his family and his own surroundings and he’s making great progress so we’re staying optimistic that’s going to continue that way.”
