Intoxicated Wisconsin man flees traffic stop at ‘extremely’ slow speed, arrested for 5th OWI after multiple open containers found

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man was arrested for his fifth OWI after driving away from a traffic stop ‘extremely’ slowly while screaming at officers out of his window.

According to the Madison Police Department, an officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding around 4:40 p.m. on April 28 near the Park Street and Badger Road intersection.

During the traffic stop, officers say that the driver, later identified as 35-year-old Brandon J. Olson Flowers, allegedly began to slowly drive away while screaming at officers out of his window.

Officers say Olson Flowers continued to drive away at an ‘extremely slow’ speed until tire deflation devices stopped his car. After reportedly refusing to exit his car, the 35-year-old Madison man was taken into custody shortly after near Center and Fisher Streets.

It was noted in the release that there were allegedly multiple open containers of alcohol found inside Olson Flowers’ vehicle.

Olson Flowers was arrested for the following:

  • OWI – 5th Offense

  • Possession of Cocaine/Coca

  • Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer

  • Resisting or Obstructing an Officer

  • Operating While Revoked (Rev due to alc/contr subst/refusal)

He was taken to the Dane County Jail after being medically cleared. No additional information was provided.
