This Interstate 5 on-ramp in Sacramento is closed for a week. What you need to know

Caltrans closed the eastbound Del Paso Road on-ramp in North Natomas to northbound Interstate 5.

The road work, which began Sunday, is scheduled for seven days to conduct pavement repairs. The on-ramp is expected to re-open 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

During construction, residents in the area can expect loud construction noises.

“The extended closure is necessary for worker and motorists’ safety,” Caltrans said in the news release.

Where are the detours?

Two detours will be in effect during construction of the eastbound Del Paso Road on-ramp.

Motorists can use the Area Boulevard on-ramp or continue eastbound to East Commerce Way and make a U-turn to use the westbound Del Paso Road on-ramp to enter I-5.

Caltrans said motorists should use QuickMap to view current road conditions and “Be work zone alert.”
