Inmate convicted of throwing feces at Kern Valley State Prison officers, hiding weapon in rectal cavity: Kern County DA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An inmate is facing additional time in prison after he was found guilty of hiding a weapon in his rectal cavity and throwing feces at Kern Valley State Prison officers back in 2019, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials said Emanuel Lewis Boone, 34, was convicted last month of two counts of aggravated battery by “gassing” against a correctional officer, possession of an inmate-manufactured weapon and preventing officers from carrying out their duties while he was housed at Kern Valley State Prison.

Prosecutors said in January 2019, Boone complained of abdominal pain as he was being taken to a hearing in Kings County. He was taken to a hospital where surgery was needed to remove a 3.5-inch makeshift weapon from his rectal cavity.

Weeks later, according to prosecutors, Boone threw human feces at Kern Valley State Prison correctional officers as they were trying to transfer him to a different housing facility. The officers were struck in their faces and upper bodies.

Officials said Boone has previous convictions of illegal firearm possession as a minor, domestic violence, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with an intent to rape in Los Angeles County.

Boone is currently being housed at California State Prison in Corcoran.
