New information surfaces in 1996 Albuquerque cold case, NCMEC says
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New information has surfaced in connection to an unidentified female who was found dead in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 28 years ago, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Investigators said that initial genealogy research has discovered that Jane Doe, who was found on May 2, 1996, in a vacant field near 98th and Tower Road in Albuquerque, may have relatives and friends in the Phoenix, Arizona, area and/or the Benton County, Washington, area.

Albuquerque Police found the victim wrapped in dark trash bags and tied together with green electrical wire. They estimate that she was between 14 and 19 years old. She was wearing blue Levi jeans, a V-neck ribbed sweater, and a black laced bra, according to Albuquerque Police. She was described as being Caucasian, between 5-foot-2-inches tall and 5-foot-4-inches tall, and is believed to have had light brown to reddish hair and light eyes.
In 2022, APD worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to reconstruct the face of the victim.
