Indiana man arrested after attempted kidnapping of 14 yr old girl in Bath

BATH, N.Y. (WETM) – A man from New Castle, Indiana, was arrested this past weekend after he allegedly tried to lure an underage girl into his vehicle at a hotel in Bath.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, Joshua S. Beem, 50, was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping in the second degree, a class C violent felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, on Sunday, April 21.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred at the Super 8 Hotel in Bath, where police say they received a report of an adult man who had attempted to lure a 14 year old girl into his vehicle against her will.

Beem was quickly located and identified as the suspect after the incident and was taken into custody. He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment, where he remains with the opportunity for bail.
