Independently-owned acai berry bowl location opens in York County

HANOVER, Pa. (WHTM) — A locally owned acai berry bowl eatery recently opened its doors in York County last weekend.

The Acai Spot is owned and operated by Puerto Rico-natives Javier Cruz and his wife Natalie Roman. According to Cruz, he and his wife first moved from Puerto Rico to the Midstate about six years ago.

Cruz and his wife previously owned a similar establishment in Hanover on 10 West Chestnut Street but decided to close two years ago to focus more on their young children.

Cruz says now that his kids are a bit older, he and his wife are ready to try operating their berry bowl concept once again.

“You know I’ve been on Acai for years,” Cruz explains. “I mean my first date with my wife when we lived in Puerto Rico was to an Acai place!”
