Increasing clouds with warm temperatures for the start of the week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A gorgeous April afternoon across the region with just a few passing clouds and highs in the low 80s to end the weekend.

For the week ahead, we will have sunny skies to start off the day Monday with increasing clouds and highs again in the mid 80s. A weak shortwave of energy transverses the upper air stream helping to bring more clouds into the southeast along with a few showers and storms by Tuesday.

The aforementioned system passes quickly as high pressure continues to help keep the region mostly dry. Temperatures by the midweek will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s under weak high pressure.

By the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend, a weak frontal system tries to slide into the region while high pressure has kept most of the rainfall chances away, this one will manage to bring in a few showers and storms as early as Friday and lasting through Sunday, at the current moment.

Temperatures don’t budge much as this next system moves through. Highs in the mid 80s remain in the extended forecast.
