Ider High School Girls Basketball wins second state title in school history, first since 1985

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WHNT) — The Ider High School Girls Basketball team defeated Mars Hill 64-58 Friday morning, capturing the program’s second state title in school history and the first since 1985.

In a game that featured six lead changes and six ties, Makinley Traylor led the Hornets with 22 points, three rebounds and five assists.

Huntsville falls in state semifinal, Covenant Christian falls in 1A championship

Mars Hill’s Kadence Rolston led all scorers with 24 points as the Panthers fall just short of a state title.

The Hornets trailed by three at halftime but rallied in the second to come out with the win.

Ider finishes the year 23-11 and Mars Hills finishes 23-6.
