IDENTIFIED: Man who died after multi-vehicle crash in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who died after police say he suffered a medical episode that caused him to crash into two other vehicles in Clovis on Wednesday has been named by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

Officials identified the man as 81-year-old James Vaughn from Fresno. Investigators add that he was driving a gray vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police say the crash took place around 2 p.m. close to the intersection of Herndon and Willow avenues inside the City of Clovis.

Investigators determined a driver was traveling eastbound on Herndon Avenue when they crossed over the center median and collided with two other vehicles head-on.

Officers with the Clovis Police Department say the driver who crossed the center median died at the scene.

Of the other two cars involved, only one driver was transported to a local hospital for complaints of chest pain.
