IDENTIFIED: Man dead after shooting outside Fresno bar

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man shot and killed at a Fresno bar early Sunday morning was identified by the Fresno Police Department on Monday.

Officers say they responded to Ewell’s Bar near Shaw Avenue and Marks Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim. Officers arrived to find 38-year-old Gilberto Gutierrez in front of the bar, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he passed away.

Detectives found out that the victim was involved in an argument outside the bar with a group of unidentified men and women. It turned into a physical fight and the victim was shot by one of them. Gutierrez later died from that gunshot wound.

According to police, the suspects fled the scene.
