IDENTIFIED: Fresno man killed by train named

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was hit and killed by a train in Downtown Fresno on Tuesday morning.

The coroner named the man as 21-year-old Eddy Rodriguez of Fresno.

Police responded to the area of Tulare and Q Street, near Fresno City Hall, at around 11:30 a.m.

Police say Rodriguez was riding his bike when he was struck by the train. According to police, the train blew its horn but was unable to stop in time. It is unknown if Rodriguez saw or heard the train before the collision.

The intersection was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
