ICON Introduces Stryker Vest for the Female Rider

The choices in protective gear designed specifically for female riders has traditionally been limited. Taking the growing number of women riders into account, Icon has decided to correct the oversight and build more and more gear for the gals. The Women’s Field Armor Stryker vest is the latest of it offerings. The Stryker features the same construction as the men’s version, but has been retailored for a woman’s curvy fit. The back plate has been made slightly shorter by changing to either a five or six plate arrangement. Additionally, the midriff and velcro adjustment straps have been rescaled for proper fit. Of course the main function of the vest’s back protector still remains intact as the women's version meets applicable certification standards for protection. The adjustable waist and shoulder straps allow versatility so vest can be worn over a hoodie or under a jacket.

Icon has also devoted some design emphasis to the concept that looking cool and staying cool are not mutually exclusive.Their gear for hot weather riding keeps air flow at a maximum while still providing ample coverage. The injection-molded plates feature integrated air intakes while the chassis is made with Airmesh and HydraDry to help wick away moisture.
