Hutchinson Fire Department responds to several controlled burns

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) — The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to several controlled burns over the weekend.

“On Saturday, Battalion 1 and Brush 71 were requested to Western Reno County on a taskforce deployment to help with a large out-of-control fire,” said the HFD. “Saturday evening, HFD responded to East 43rd for a controlled burn that got out of hand and burnt into some trees.”

On Sunday, the HFD says they responded again to the controlled burn on East 43rd that flared up again.

The HFD would like to remind everyone that we are not out of fire season yet.

“There is still a need for more moisture,” said the HFD. “Please monitor your controlled burns several days after completion.”
