Hunter Tier Lot, affordable housing to be discussed at Mamaroneck Village meetings

MAMARONECK VILLAGE — Community meetings to discuss affordable housing will take place next week from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 at the Emelin Theatre in the Village of Mamaroneck.

The meetings will address the over 900 questions submitted by community members about the two proposals for developing the Hunter Tier Lot, as well as affordable housing in general. Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Sharon Torres, along with the village's Board of Trustees will ask the submitted questions to panelists and guests.

Wednesday's meeting will address two specific Hunter Tier Lot proposals. Panelists will include: Jordan Thaler of Luna Collective, LLC, a joint venture of BRP Development Partners and Hyperion Group; and Andrew Germansky of the Washingtonville Housing Alliance, Inc. and Westhab, Inc. Both proposals can be viewed on the Village of Mamaroneck website.

Thursday's meeting will address affordable housing in general. Panelists will include: commissioner of planning for Westchester County, Blanca P. López; executive director of Housing Action Council, Rosemarie Noonan; chief initiative officer of the Housing Collective, Melissa Kaplan-Macey; chief executive officer and executive vice president for the Building and Realty Institute of Westchester and the Mid-Hudson Region, Timothy Foley; and deputy director of the Land Use Law Center and adjunct professor for Pace University Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Tiffany Zezula, who will be moderating.

According to the meeting's event pages, both will be translated into Spanish in real time. Both meetings are free to attend, but require tickets. Wednesday's meeting is sold out; however, those who are interested may attend Wednesday's meeting via live stream on LMC Media Channels Optimum (Altice) 76/Fios 35 (in English), or Optimum (Altice) 77/Fios 34 (in Spanish), or on any internet connected device at lmcmedia.org.

Recordings of both meetings will be uploaded to the Village of Mamaroneck website after they take place.
