House of the Dragon has dropped not one but two brand new trailers, which tease both sides of the upcoming war.

The Game of Thrones prequel series, which is set 200 years before the events of the original series, is due to return to screens on Monday, June 17 in the UK, with conflict brewing for the Iron Throne.

HBO has now unleashed both 'Black' and 'Green' trailers – the former (which you can watch above) showcasing Rhaenyra and her Dragonstone force's claim for power, while the latter (below) looks at King Aegon and mother Alicent.

The next season of the show is set to be condensed to eight episodes after the debut season's 10.

"There are eight wonderful episodes with so much happening in every episode, and we have trouble, at times, bringing them down to one hour," director Clare Kilner previously told The Hollywood Reporter.

"[Showrunner Ryan Condal's] decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they're jam-packed with emotional and visually exciting events."

House of the Dragon was able to continue filming last year amid the Hollywood strikes, as a majority of the show's cast members are members of UK union Equity instead of the US's SAG-AFTRA.

"British law forbids them from staging a sympathy strike. If they walk, they have no protection against being fired for breach of contract, or even sued," author George RR Martin explained.

As well as House of the Dragon, HBO is prepping a number of new Game of Thrones projects, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight – due to arrive in late 2025 – as well as a show about Aegon Targaryen's conquest.

House of the Dragon season 2 premieres on June 17, airing on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK and on HBO and streaming service Max in the US. Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
