House destroyed by fire

May 11—By Richard R. Barron — The Ada News

A 2400-square-foot brick house in the 14000-block of County Road 3590 east of Ada was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon.

An Ada Police officer reported the fire in the mid-afternoon. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters determined that the house was already 50% destroyed and decided to contain the blaze defensively.

The roof had partially caved in when first responders arrived. By 4 p.m., the entire house had burned to the ground.

No one was in the structure when the fire occurred.

The Ada Fire Department, the Homer Fire Department, the Byng Fire Department, and Mercy EMS assisted in containing the blaze.
