Hot and mainly dry today

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Get ready for a toasty afternoon with highs in the low 90s. That’s only about two degrees from today’s record high of 94.

There’s just a 10% chance of a quick shower this afternoon. Most of us stay dry due to a dip in humidity and dew points this afternoon. Drier air heats up quickly, and that’s why temperatures spike into the low 90s.

We won’t have much afternoon rain activity tomorrow either. There’s just a 20% rain chance, and it will be hot again. Highs return to near 90 in the afternoon.

Humidity builds back a bit on Sunday, so there’s a 30% chance of rain on Cinco de Mayo. Once again, the day starts out dry and heats up quickly.

We keep the rain chances quite low for most of next week with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Humidity increases for the second half of the week.
