DC weather: Severe thunderstorm watch issued for DC area
WASHINGTON - Get ready for the heat and humidity Wednesday across the Washington, D.C. region with highs near 90 degrees and the possibility of showers and severe thunderstorms tonight.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the following areas until 8 p.m.:
District of Columbia
Anne Arundel County
Frederick County
Montgomery County
Prince George's County
Carroll County
Arlington County
City of Alexandria
City of Fairfax
City of Manassas
Fairfax County
Prince William County
Stafford County
The National Weather Service says damaging winds and hail are possible.

The storm threat will linger overnight. It will be a mostly cloudy Thursday with highs near 85 degrees. Thursday will remain unsettled with the chance for showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon and into Friday morning.
The possibility of showers and storms continues over the weekend.
