‘It is an honor to be a nurse’: Phoebe Sumter Nurse receives national award

AMERICUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Phoebe Sumter nurse received a national award for her expertise and service.

Shatoria Williams was announced as an honoree in the “Nurses of Note” program. Recipients are recognized for their diligence, passion, leadership, and devotion to caring for others.

“It is an honor to be a nurse and to be able to take care of patients and hold true to Phoebe’s Vision: To Make Every Life We Touch Better,” said Williams.

Williams, originally from Milledgeville, Georgia, has been a part of Phoebe Sumter team for three years.

The “Nurses of Note” program was created by ProtectServe, a company specializing in clinical collaboration and provider scheduling solutions, four years ago.

“Nurse recognition is just as important today as it was when we launched this program during the pandemic, and I can say without a doubt that these winners and their stories showcase the very best of what nurses have to offer,” said Kelly Conklin, PerfectServe Chief Customer and Clinical Officer.
