UPDATE: Victim identified in homicide investigation at Columbus trailer park

UPDATE 4/15/24 4:27 p.m.: The Columbus Police Department has released the identity of the woman found dead at a trailer park overnight Monday.

According to police, officers responded to the 800 block of Morris Road at about 12:49 a.m.

At the scene, police found Jakesa Josey with “an apparent gunshot wound(s).”

Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison pronounced Josey dead at 1:28 a.m.

PSA: Hogansville Police warning citizens about utility scam

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A homicide investigation is underway in Columbus after an individual was killed overnight.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, the homicide happened at a trailer park on Morris Road.
