17-year-old employee shot, killed inside NW Charlotte Jack in the Box by masked suspects: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 17-year-old Jack in the Box employee was shot and killed inside the fast food restaurant Friday by two masked men, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

Authorities believe this deadly shooting was a targeted attack.

The deadly incident marks the third reported homicide in the city within 24 hours.

According to CMPD, just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, officers responded to a Jack in the Box restaurant at the corner of North Hoskins Road and Brookshire Blvd. in northwest Charlotte for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon with injury.

CMPD investigating two separate homicides overnight in east Charlotte

As CMPD officers arrived at the Jack in the Box, they found a 17-year-old employee who had been shot multiple times. The teen was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have not publicly identified the teen. CMPD’s Operations Command, Victims Services, Medic, and the Charlotte Fire Department all responded Friday evening.

The other two homicides occurred late Thursday night, March 28, on the east side of the city. The first was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of Blythwood Lane.

Officers responded to the area for an assault with a deadly weapon with injuries call. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information has been released yet in this case.

The other homicide was reported shortly after 11 p.m. in the 500 block of Blendwood Drive. Officers pronounced one person dead at the scene. No other information was released by CMPD Thursday night into Friday morning.
