Home and Away's Tane Parata will be left horrified amid his ongoing baby storyline.
A few weeks back, Tane found an abandoned baby while walking along the beach, and has since spent most of his time looking after her in the hospital.
After starting to pursue methods to become Maia's legal guardian, Tane is blocked from becoming an emergency foster carer.
In scenes set to air next week on Channel 5 in the UK, Harper shares a news article with Tane that questions his motives surrounding the baby, after a journalist spoke to her sister Dana.

Harper honestly reveals that Dana was tricked into talking, which Tane is not impressed by.
The same journalist then arrives to speak to Mali, but instead finds Tane feeding the baby. A fight quickly breaks out between the pair, before Rose interrupts and sends the journalist away, unimpressed with Tane's behaviour.
Later, Alf is still upset that Tane's name is being tarnished in the press but is relieved when Roo confirms that the journalist will be reprimanded. They then sort through the baby items that have been donated by the community following Rose's press conference.
While inspecting the donations, Roo notices a bracelet engraved with the name 'Poppy'. Questioning whether that's the baby's real name, she takes the evidence to Rose, who accepts it but doesn't believe it's from the baby's mother.

Harper and Tane soon weigh in, with Harper convinced that it was a sign from the mother to show she cares, but Tane disagrees.
Felicity then presses Mali for an update on her estranged husband, but he doesn't give much away. After noticing the recent news article, she decides to check up on him.
When she arrives at the hospital, Felicity sees Dana apologising to Tane for speaking to the journalist, but he doesn't accept her remorse.
Felicity confronts him for sending Dana away in tears, with Tane arguing that his ex-wife shouldn't be at the hospital at all. She then heads back to Salt, admitting that it's no longer her responsibility to look out for Tane.

Later, Rose gets a call from Sarge, who assigns her a tough task. Rose has to action new orders surrounding the baby's care, after the journalist made a complaint. From now on, only health and social care staff can be around the baby.
Rose is frustrated by this but tells Tane that he needs to leave the hospital or she'll be forced to issue him with a restraining order.
An angry Tane returns to the gym where he finds an apologetic Dana, but brushes her off — blaming her for the recent events.
