Hollyoaks aired a frightening cliffhanger for Hannah Ashworth as John Paul McQueen made a shocking discovery.
The two figures have converged following the arrival of Carter Shepherd, with the Hollyoaks High headmaster weaving his nefarious web as he attempted to further his own religious conversion clinic with Declan Hawthorne.

Hannah had been blackmailed into sex work by Carter, while John Paul uncovered the headmaster’s evil plan to disrupt the Pride Festival.
In tonight’s (April 29) first-look episode, Carter attempted to make a quick getaway from the village with daughter Freya and Lucas, with the aim of heading to America to reach a safe haven at a like-minded church.
John Paul, who wasn’t aware of Carter’s escape act, frantically ran around the village as he attempted to warn people of Carter’s plan, though Zoe and Sally both cast doubt on his claims.

There was a twist, however, as Carter’s plan was thwarted by Lucas, who had forgotten his passport. As he returned to the village, he locked eyes with Dillon, who ran after him.
John Paul, meanwhile, went to Carter’s house in a bid to expose him, but was stunned to find Hannah tied and bound there; will the pair join forces to bring down Carter? Or, will the headmaster successfully escape the village?
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
